This course develops the tools necessary to solve systems of linear equations.  Systems of linear equations are pervasive not just in mathematics and statistics, but also in many other areas of the natural and social sciences including economics and physics.  Often times in such applications, the number of variables or equations can reach into the hundreds of thousands or even millions.  One therefore needs a well-developed theory in order to answer questions about such systems; this is the goal of the course.
